After a TalkTalk box replacement we still have signal problems in Lyme Regis from the Weymouth transmitter. Pictures breaking up, and such poor signals that retuning sometimes only finds About 12 channels. This problem occurs mainly on non BBC channels but also yesterday on BBC4. This problem has only happened since the retune we had to do at the end of March. Other TV sets in the house work OK and also if we disconnect the Talk Talk box our main TV is also fine. TAlk talk accepted my theory that their box was at fault but we received a new box yesterday and the problem continues. I stress that this problem started immediately after your engineering on the Weymouth transmitter. We are completely puzzled and feel that we can't go back to talk talk as they have done their bit by replacing their equipment. Your assistance in this matter would be much appreciated. My post code is DT7 3HZ

Ken Baker:
Looking at the Digital UK Coverage Checker, it would appear that you may be better off using the Charmouth transmitter and not the Weymouth one, see Coverage Checker - Detailed View A Group B or preferably a wideband aerial is needed for that transmitter.
This website does not operate any transmitters as it is entirely independent from all broadcasters or service providers. The transmitters are operated by Arqiva who can be contacted at https://www.arqiva.com/co…us/.
Meanwhile, please check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging all the coaxial plugs/sockets and refitting them. That will clear any possible corrosion/oxidation from the contacts, which is a common cause of problems such as you report.

Hi we purchased a New Sony T V and had a new Ariel fitted by an engineer all was fine for about 4 weeks and then one day we put the t v on it said no signal and explained we had to retune the channels which we did, Now ever since that day the T V goes blank screen for about 2/3 seconds and sometimes goes fuzzy for about 2/3 seconds ,I have phoned the engineer twice now and said it something to do with 4g interfering and also so could need to set T V back to factory settings which we also did but the problem is still there he said he will come back and check the system but if nothing is wrong he will charge for his time as its not his fault and advised to get a 4g booster?? (not a clue what that is) so have you any idea's please as we have spent a lot of money on a nice new T V that now does not work as good as the old one due to the signal problem

Terry Reddington: Retuning is the worst thing to do when you suddenly loose signal as all you are doing is deleting all of the TV's previously correct tuning data and searching for the same channels again. Possibilities are that you either have a fault, interference, or that when retuning your TV picked up a weaker signal from a different transmitter. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV. You can check whether there are any 4G mobile masts which are likely to cause interference by contacting the AT800 organisation (see link below), who can provide you with a free filter to block out the unwanted signals if they suspect 4G interference to be likely (a 4G booster is the opposite as that would increase the strength of any 4G signals). If you provide a full postcode we can see which transmitter you should be receiving, where you are in relation to it and your predicted signal strength etc, which would enable further advice to be offered.
