Richard Baguley: Same thing happened to my Sony DTR500 but only on channel 54 from Mendip signal strength jumped from 70% to 100% manual retune solved the problem.Samsung and LG tvs were not affected only the Sony equipment.

mike: All five our various family members Sony HDX870 Freeview boxes have also stopped working at these postcodes - RH19, TN27, SW12. The EPG fails to load properly and the picture on all channels remains blank even after a full system reset.Pre-recorded programs play back OK. Any help appreciated.

Martin: This appears to be a wide spread issue to do with the auto update. Seems there may be a software, hardware disagreement. Best thing to do is call sony.

RDR HXD970 No EPG.No No Video out from internal digital tuner.
Signal Fine on TV tuner
Signal strength test on DVD crashes DVD!
I know of many others affected since yesterday.
Something toxic in the MUX?

Just got HD TV. Winter Hill transmit HD on Ch 54. TV can't locate anything at 54???

Gary: Does your TV have a DVB-T2 tuner? It is necessary to use such a tuner to receive Freeview HD transmissions. If the TV is marked "HD ready" this indicates that the screen will display an HD picture, when fed via an HDMI cable, from a suitable HD source, such as a blu-ray player, a Freeview HD box or HD satellite receiver. If the tuner is DVB-T2, try doing a manual tune to C54, remembering to select DVB-T2 if requested to make a choice.

Same issue as a lot of other folks with EPG since Saturday night. Is Sony likely to send corrective update information or do we need to call sony for some patch?
