and it turned out to be corrupted EPG data.
Yes, my EPG has been playing up since January. Taking sometimes until the day itself to update when it used to be a week ahead.
js - thanks, yes.
I've retuned it back to 31 for now, but since that's the one from back in Jan I assume we're going to lose that pretty soon?
More importantly, why has it gone from COM 8 where it should be?

David: The appearance of the Com78 National network on com7 and com8, around 15/01/2018, is a significant change.
The EIT-schedule on Com78 National has an overall cycle time of 900 seconds and carries full 8-day schedule for 1196 services, in what appears to be all mainland multiplexes - everything but NI and CI.
The EIT-present/following (now/next) cycles in 8 seconds for all 1196 services.
Whatever the reason for the behaviour of the Digital Stream, it would seem there is no fault in the broadcast data since other devices are coping.

I've retuned on two different types of device by two different manufacturers and BBC4 HD has disappeared from COM8, which I'm getting a strong signal.
Seems unlikely it's not the transmitter.

STe: Quote: "BBC4 HD has disappeared from COM8"
That is not possible. All services on a multiplex will be present if any are present.
You need to explain exactly what you mean.
And the Make and Model of your device is?
You do know BBC FOUR HD is only on at night and CBeebies HD replaces it during the day?
A non-standard device may need to scan when BBC FOUR HD is running to find it.

js: I think I misread your earlier comment where you said.
Since 7 March.
COM8 is on 554 MHz, UHF 31
ARQB is on 602 MHz, UHF 37
COM7 is on 746 MHz, UHF 55
Is this correct?
I was going by the data on this page (not in the comments) which say that COM8 is on C37 and COM7 on 31.
So where are you getting your information?

Anyone had reception problems with COM7 from Winter Hill lately ? I always found COM7 problematic but worse since channel change to 55 ( from 31 ). On the other hand no problems with COM8 now
channel 31 ( from 37 ) WHY?????
