ForzaManchester:
It's because it is a local multiplex aimed at Manchester only, so does not need as high a transmitter power as other multilexes aimed a much broader range of viewers locations.

Angie: Your TV has retuned and picked up a Welsh transmiter. Some TVs allow you to select your preferred region if more than one is found whilst retuning, but otherwise you would need to use the manual tuning option available in the menu on most TVs and set top boxes/PVRs to restore BBC North West, ITV Granada and Channel 4.

Kevin: Assuming you mean channels 58 & 59 on Freeview (ITV Be +1 & ITV 4 +1) these are part time channels which only broadcast for a couple of hours overnight and mainly exist so that ITV can reserve those channel numbers for future use.

According to this looks like C37 BBC4HD etc is moving to a much more powerful transmitter at Winter Hill on 31/03/18.
Am I reading this correctly?
Today I decided to spend some time investigating why my BBC4HD reception is dropping in and out. I've already remade some coax connections to no avail.
Maybe I should just wait a few weeks???
(I can see Winter Hill from the roof - BBC4HD reception drops from 54% to 0% continuously according to my Humax. Been like this most of this winter.)
Cheers,
AndyRich

Andy Rich: COM8 is currently on UHF C37 but will move to C31 (currently occupied by COM7 which is moving to C55) on 7th March, however according to Digital UK the power level will remain the same as it is now. COM8 will then make a further move to C56 in early 2020.

StevensOnln1: Oh that's disappointing. I was looking above at the section "How will the Winter Hill (Bolton, England) transmission frequencies change over time?". It shows C37 moving from com8 to arqB.
I have a basic aerial (plate type reflector) but it does the job as I'm in a good signal area. In fact I have to attenuate the signal because the channels on the 100kW transmitters are too strong and my Humax box stutters. The only issue is the channels on COM8 which is the lowest power transmitter.
I really don't know how to fix this issue. Any ideas?

Various Freeview channels dropping down to 0 percent then up to 100 percent. in a couple of seconds. This mostly applies to CH4, Drama and what I call "The lesser channels!" and has little effect on BBC channels. Location 1 mile east of Wigan.
