I am in BN3 2WF on Hove Seafront and our BBC reception is amazing but we get some break up on ITV and C4. Any particular reason why that might happen? We are pointed at Whitehawk.

Pete: There are a couple of strong possibilities here, taking a look at the signal strength and quality readings on ITV and C4 will help point us in the right direction. The Whitehawk Hill transmitter is only 4km away and should give a strong signal at your location, perhaps too strong if your TV has a sensitive tuner. If the signal strength and quality readings on ITV & C4 are high then it's possible that the tuner is being deafened by too much signal. Do you have a booster or amplifier or any sort in your aerial system or behind your TV?
The other distinct possibility is that your TV may have tuned some channels from the Newhaven transmitter, which is 15km away in almost the same direction from you as Whitehawk Hill, but is predicted to provide a much weaker signal. This can be resolved by manually tuning your TV to the PSB2 multiplex (which carries ITV & C4) from Whitehawk Hill on UHF channel 35.

All:
For the record -
Whitehawk Hill's channels are now PSB1/BBCA C48, PSB2/D3&4 C35, PSB3/BBCB HD C36, COM4/SDN C32, COM5/ARQA C34, COM6/ARQB C33, LOCAL MUX/L-BTN C40.
If you hover on each of the aforementioned channel numbers, it'll give you the frequency if they aren't known/obvious to you.

As has been mentioned many times around ukfree.tv and for this transmitter on the previous page p92, the site owner has not been able to find time to do all the updates from the 700MHz clearance program as well as correct some errors.
The correct current UHF channels for Whitehawk Hill are in the post Immediately before yours!

Vinnie Martins: Where is this box and where does the cable go that has been cut? Chances are that it's going to be something that would best be repaired/reconnected by a reputable aerial installer, rather than something that you could easily repair yourself.
