Hi.
I posted a short while back enquiring about the changes to the BBC's Red-Button Video output, which resided on the BBC FOUR,CBeebies Mux B, and it's planned move to Mux 1. It transpires that, although there no longer exists an EPG entry for the 301(eng) channel on Mux B, there still remains a brodcast from this PID (eg, video loops of Formula One, CITV Extra etc). There is a PID on Mux 1 along with BBC One and Two for the Red Button, but no output from the channel.
Has the planned changes actually taken effect yet, or are they just in the process of moving the video output? Can anyone tell me what is happening with the BBC Interactive services.
Also, Steve C., I had an idea that C31 was to be an 8K mode service, ready for switch-over in August. This would mean that some boxes/TV's indeed will have to be scrapped. If your TVs/Boxes are Full-HD, as opposed to just HD-Ready, I guess there won't be a problem. I don't have a problem because most DVB-T defvices for PCs are software dependant for decoding, ie the hardware can already cope with any transmission modes for DVB-T. The one TV in our house (Mother's) which is Freeview, is Full-HD, but only purchased at Christmas.
I really wish Offcom had made a better job of DSO altogether. Besides brief re-tune messages on TV, and forums like this, there has been no public information whatsoever as to equipment requirements/change-over timetables, or any such details. Just letters (very numerous) telling us that DSO will happen (sometime), and we can get a free box if we wish. All very, very poorly done!

Well after 3 days of over red screen and after I ordered a new box the thing started working ok.
Any explanations.
Using an Asda STB-09 cheap box that only started playing up when the changeover started. Been on Waltham for 20 plus years.

NG22 (Farnsfield Notts) Zero signal on C31 from Waltham. No problem related to Sandy Heath (C24). Have factory reset and cleared lists and tried to retune several times but signal is so weak 3,4 5 & 6 are now completely missing as available selection. All other muxes are OK, even having to use an attenuator on the feed. This is totally outside the users control. How long can the transmission set-up allow this to go on ?

timonthenet: The Mux2 service from Waltham now on C31 is still 2k mode.This will remain so until switchover step2 on 31st August 2011. The only reason for the frequency change on Mux2 (and MuxA on 30th March) was to avoid reception problems in overlap areas with The Wrekin which is assigned C23 and C26 for high power use post switchover. It is only very old boxes and IDTVs that do not support the 8k mode that will require replacing by the August switchover. It will not affect more modern HD ready or Full HD receivers all of which support the 8k mode on standard definition transmisions. HD ready tvs will however require a STB that supports DVB-T2 in order to display Freeview HD pictures.

KMJ,Derby: thank you for your thoughts on the problem. I have discovered that my other TV is also playing up in the same way. I have tried full installation reset on that TV and still missing channels...there are no other "copies" in the Channel List. I have not got near the PVR tonight ...too many kids watching DVDs! But will try that in the morning.
