For the last 4 years we have had nothing but trouble with any channel on 666Mhz
Others have reported the same on other transmitters in other areas
- is this frequency just unsuitable for freeview or is it just permanently faulty ?

None of the other frequencies are so poor so regularly (almost daily issues)

Hi, I'm in Oswestry and want to move my aerial to pick up COM7 fro Sutton Coldfield to get Keep It Country TV. Can I do this myself or do I need an engineer?

Sam Hodson:

Just possibly! It depends entirely on where you live, so we need a full post code so we can examine the reception possibilities at your location. Some parts of Oswestry may be served by Sutton Coldfield but others are not. If you are served then the signal may need an amplifier to bring the level up to a reliable level.

Regarding the aerial, that depends on which transmitter you are currently using and what level of skill you have for things mechanical and electrical. It also depends on whether your current aerial is outside above the roof, inside in the loft or elsewhere.

If your in an elevated position then you may be able to receive from Sutton Coldfield,but probably your better option is Winter Hill, if you are in Oswestry itself,that also brodcasts Com 7,but at a much lower power...oh and yes always consult a local Aerial rigger,just like myself....

@David Harris

Nearby trees beginning to grow again and blocking your signal perhaps? Happens a lot at this time of year.

David Harris: Check that your actually tuned to Sutton Coldfield, and then check signal levels on all the muxes - Very high or very low? Since your 38km from the transmitter, you might have too high a signal, but if its poor, then check cabling, and then if its still bad, you might have to check the rest of the system.
