Which companies have run the Channel 3 services in the Sutton Coldfield transmitter area
Sutton Coldfield doesn't have HD at present, anything you've seen in HD on Freeview was only for test, the service won't officially launch there until digital switchover.
The only transmitters with HD, as part of the 'advance network' (used largely for testing) on Freeview are Pontop Pike, Crystal Palace, Lichfield, Emley Moor and Black Hill. Only after digital switchover will HD be avaiable nationwide on Freeview. If you want HD now, get Freesat HD.

Hi I live in Telford, Shropshire postcode TF1 1RR and I am currently tuned to the Wrekin Relay Station. I can also tune to Sutton Hill as I have an aerial rotator. My question is that sometimes the resolution on my Humax PVR9200T Freeview tuner is poor even though when I check the signal strength and quality all seems ok. If I connect my TV direct to the aerial the TV picture is fine (I have a Sony Bravia with integtral DVB tuner). The Freeview problem is usually cured by a cold reboot effected by unplugging everything for about 1 minute and then reconnecting. Can you tell me what the problem may be please? Humax were due to roll out an over air update for my tuner between 22nd and 24th of December 2010 but that hasn't occurred yet. I've contacted them to find out what's happening.

While some limited further work on the mast will be required over the coming months, the mast operator will be doing everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum. Any viewers experiencing reduced digital signal strength should note that Freeview services will be significantly boosted at switchover in September 2011. Digital UK apologises for any inconvenience caused. [DUK]
