Tony Dix: Also meant to say, that this is why no coverage prediction levels are seen under Rowridge's COM channels on digitaluk's trade chart, accessed by clicking on same in the blue boxes under your posting, reception of these channels officially listed as not being possible in the area in question.

Po382ae, with roof ariel, clear site to rowridge. we have lost this evening, all channels broadcasting on com5 and com6 on all 3 tv's with built in tuners, have checked ariels, connectors direction etc and done full reset and fresh instalation (re-tune) with no effect other than to wipe all com5 and com6 channels from the list.

Aerial on roof.
Normally good Freeview signal. But signal lost or poor each morning for past week. Then seems ok in evening.
Have tried retune but no improvement.

Your location is poorly served by any transmitter (see Freeview reception at SP61E S), you being in the valley, though the 'preferred' one is Rowridge, either vertical or horizontal or both. Retuning at such times will make no difference at all but may result in the loss of some services. The cause may be the mass of trees forming the New Forest which is between you and Rowridge.
Have you checked the signal strength and quality at times when reception is poor and when it is good? What resulkts do you get? If the strength is greater than about 80% you have too string a signals, if it is less than 50% then you r signal is too weak. In that case you might try an external aerial mounted higher than currently. If it is too strong then an attenutaor should be tried.

Andrew Cooper: Plus in addition to that said by MikeP. Signals received via multiple obstructions starting from around 7 miles out prior to your location are very likely to suffer from an element of being erratic caused by weather related issues affecting the reflective surface of the terrain.

I am visiting Shanklin over Easter and hope to listen to BBC Radio 5 Live. I have a Pure Pocket DAB 1500 receiver which has never been able to pick up a signal in the past. Will your new transmitter make any difference to the usefulness of my particular radio whilst I am on the island?

We are in Hedge End, Southampton.
2 different TVs with different aerials have lost a % of Freeview channels in the last 12 hours. ITV3, Drama, ITV Be, ITv2+1, 5*, Quest, 5+1,True Enertainment, Horror etc etc.
All the channels on Rowbridge COM4 has disappeared.
Is this a known problem?

Thanks for your response to my query in early Jan.
It turned out to be the splitter amplifier. Either it had failed or there's a new 800mhz EE signal locally.
New splitter amp and perfect picture.
Diagnosed by bypassing the splitter.

I I'v just got a Sony 'smart' HD freeview TV and after tuning I am missing all channels on com 7 CH31,previous TV nnot HD freeview and I was expecting to get BBC 4 HD on 106 with the new one.My location is Portsmouth and all oother channels are there.
