Am i correct in assuming the Nottingham transmitter will not be carrying the proposed new HD versions of BBC 3/4 News 24 etc which would be a shame as i understand Nottingham is no longer a relay but a digital transmitter in its own right
I see they will be available from Waltham and Sutton Coldfield but unfortunately reception from these transmitters is very poor at my address

Anthony: Yes, that is correct. The Freeview HD service will be coming from a select group of transmitters - see Want to see the extended Freeview HD coverage areas? You show the True Entertainment channel, number 61, as being included in the COM6 / ArqB MUX, on channel 48, but I am receiving it in COM4 / SDN on channel 51.
(I checked on your site first to see which MUX I needed to rescan manually, and when rescanning channel 48 did not find True Entertainment, I had to do a full auto rescan of all channels to get it which meant having to set all my timers all over again.).

KateR: I believe you are correct the new True Entertainment channel seems to be on COM4 rather than COM6, this is reflected on DTGs MUX listings:

Hi. I'm completely new here, but I have to ask very kindly if you could remove the telephone number mentioned in Stewart Crowe's post 3 up from here.
That number belongs to Arqiva, that's correct - but it's an Ex-Directory number given to members of Arqiva's viewer panel, and as we are all instructed each year in the operations letter, it must not be published openly to anyone.
This is simply because if everyone has it, Emley Moor would be overrun every time Freeview goes down. They need a few specific "this is what's gone, this is which mux(es) are off" etc, rather than people asking "my telly's not working, what's wrong???".
Sorry to be a spoilsport, but your help would be welcomed. Thanks!

Hello
What degree angle do I point my aireal for the Nottingham transmitter , my post code is DE3 0sa ?
link to this comment |
Adrian: It's on a bearing of 68 degrees. Remember your compass uses Magnetic North which varies slightly by location rather than True North or Grid North.
I would suggest that you won't get a usuable signal from Nottingham, but instead should use Waltham, which is at 103 degrees and also carries East Midlands programmes.
Nottingham is vertically polarised and Waltham is horizontally polarised.

I am living in the Gedling area of Nottingham and have had issues re: interference with Freeview for last 3/4 days. The picture and sound on all channels is breaking up, and at some points the picture is lost completely and all I see is a black screen with 'No Signal'. I have not been made aware of any likely interference issues. Have seen the post from Jenny @ Long Eaton who isn't too far away from my location. I am beginning to think that something must be happening in the area. It would be nice to be forewarned and told how long we can expect this annoying interference for!!??!
