Becky : You need to speak to whoever is responsible for the communal aerial system.
It may be fitted with filters that only allow through, from the aerial, the frequencies used by the transmitter. Now some new frequencies are being used any filtering is likely to need adjustment.

Tony Ellis: Perhaps it was caused by some fault in the aerial system, or at least something outwith your control.

I had to do a second (manual) retune to get C49/PSB1 back - but I've no idea why those stations (and no others) were lost overnight after they'd been accessed and stored yesterday.

Dave Lindsay: Help. We don't have any BBC channels since yesterday and have retuned umpteen times. Tempers are fraying in this house. What can we do to get BBC channels back. In fact, I've retuned again and have lost even more now. WTF!

We have no BBC channels in Taunton, have reset the tv back to factory settings and still not picking up any BBC channels. Have just asked friends in Taunton and Street and they have no BBC channels either. We had a new aerial so sure this is not the problem, please sort it out!!

Dave, I live south of Taunton and after several manual retunes still have no BBC channels either - although my neighbour has (she has an old set top box)! If it is a general problem, is there someone somewhere who might be able to do something about it? Can we contact them? Thanks.

Dave - that's very interesting - and helpful. Thank you. We've contacted the landlord... Pity it's a holiday w/e. Have a good one.

John Crabb: It shouldn't be expected to be an issue.
Failing all else, then the only option left is to do a full reset on the TV in the hope that there is some remnant of the old BBC channel left in its memory now that the full reset will clear. This will, of course, likely reset everything else like picture settings.
The only other thing is if you have another aerial facing another transmitter and it is combined with the Mendip one; this may be an issue with C49 and C48 from Mendip.
