Mrs Julie Haig:
There are no reported problems nor engineering work at Mendip, so it is likley that you have aproblem with your aerial connections. Start by checking all the plugs and sockets are in good condition by unplugging the cable and then refitting them, that will generally eliminate any corrosion from the contacts that is not uncommon. Then check that your aerial is undamaged and has not moved. Recent strong winds could have moved it slightly. Then check that you are tuned to the correct multiplex for BBC 1 from Mendip, it should be on Channel 49, 698 MHz.
Please then enter your full post code into this website so we contributors can examine the reception conditions at your location. One possibility is that your TV retuned and picked up the wrong source, hence unreliable reception.

We were away on holiday a few days and on our return we find that we have lost BBC1 and 2. (No-one was in the house during our absence. ) We try to update the channel list several times every day, and occasionally get a signal but is too broken to watch. All other channels continue to be received well. Our loft aerial has never been moved and remains directed to the Mendip transmitter.

Mr Wilson:
Please give a full post code so that we can examine what the reception conditions are like at your location. Secondly, please give the signal strength readings, the quality does not help at this stage.
Note that there is no reported problem at the transmitter.

Talking Pictures is no longer on Ch 33(570Mhz) on the Mendip Xmitter. The company website says it's changed frequency to increase coverage, but does anybody know the channel group it has moved to?

StevensOnln1: Thanks! I have moved all the channels to the order that's logical to me, with all the shopping and religious channels now in the 300+ range, so a complete retune takes a long while to set up again. Retuning one channel saved loads of hassle.
