Jeff: Panasonic's are know to have sensitive tuners, so I am not surprised they are breaking up - your tv is perhaps slightly less sensitive, etc. You need to kill that signal level, no matter what you might think is going on with the transmitter, which probably has nothing to do with your problem.

Jeff:
Further to that said by MikeB, you need to have around 80% signal strength as nearer to 100% will overload the tuner of any TV or box.

Live in Haywards Heath and for the last couple of days the hd channels have been heavily pixelated and breaking up. Non hd are fine and tv menu showing 100% signal strength. Is there a localised issue.

John : 100% signal strength is too high and can lead to the TV's tuner being overloaded. Take a look at the article titled "Too much of a good thing" on this website and try an attenuator.

This morning 27 June 2018 I have no reception on any BBC channels non-HD from Heathfield or Midhurst. All other channels are working as normal although BBC HD channels are breaking up.
You say there are no problems but if it were to be a problem with my equipment I would expect similar problems on all channels.
I live in Southwater, somewhat between Midhurst and Heathfield transmitters and worse, in a hollow. So reception can be iffy although the recent retuning has improved the situation hugely to the point that we can now use DTT more regularly rather than only satellite. However the weather seems to affect it. But reception has been very good over recent weeks. But not today.

I live in Arlington bn27 3ra, the other side of Hailsham. Last night (26-06-18) I suffered no signal on around half of the stations that I normally have good reception on. The aerial is in it's normal position, I've cleaned the plugs & sockets of my TV aerial with switch cleaner, re-scanned & have now lost about half the stations. Is there a transmitter problem? Peter

Peter Martin:
No problems reported at the transmitter. However, the hot weather is causing tropospheric lift whereby signal from other transmitters travel further than usual and cause interference, a well known and documented problem.
