We can't get any freeview on our Panasonic tv with built-in freeview. We are apparently off the eyemouth transmitter, yet when I put in two other postcodes in this very small village they come up with two other transmitters, Chatton and Selkirk. Why is this?

Lesley:I assume you mean that you only receive the PSB muxes with basic BBC, ITV1&2/C4/C5 etc. Why was Eyemouth relay chosen for your TV reception? The digital UK postcode checker shows Chatton to be the transmitter offering the best reception, subject to you not having any local obstructions in the signal path which is roughly SE from your location. Chatton also transmits the COM muxes, which due to economic constraints are not usually available from relay sites. Note that Chatton transmits Tyne-Tees/BBC NE, so if you were to use this transmitter you would need to have your Eyemouth aerial diplexed into the downlead to continue receiving Scottish transmissions.

Lesley: What can and can't be received can vary locally and in some locations, house by house.

You say that you can't get anything on the Panasonic TV. Do you have other TVs or boxes that do work? What is the model number of the Panasonic? There are some that won't work after switchover.

Have you tried connecting the Panasonic to the same aerial socket normally used by a TV or box that works?

As KMJ,Derby says, in order to get the full range of Freeview channels and Border regional programming, you will need a second aerial on Chatton. Looking on Google Streetview, there are a few houses in your road that have gone down this route.

I live in Eyemouth, I only have a loft Ariel but it has worked 99.9% of the time. The only time it went out was probably due to atmospheric conditions. I now have an LCD TV with Freeview HD built in. I've now found that a set-top ariel will work fine if positioned correctly. If you have an old one lying around it might be worth a try. The signal strength might be slightly lower but it wont effect the picture.

Bill Hill: You are much closer to the Eyemouth transmitter than Lesley, which makes a set-top aerial more likely to work.
