jerry: You need a Freeview box that supports MPEG4 to receive a picture on RTE. Either a BT vision box or a Freeview HD box would be suitable, otherwise a use Saorview box.

Fergus Maunsell: Your TV appears to be listed as "HD ready" which means that it is ready to display a HD picture when fed via the HDMI connection with a suitable HD source, such as a Freeview HD box, HD satellite box or blu-ray player. You need a Freeview HD box (or receiver with in-built tuner which supports DVB-T2) to receive both the Freeview HD channels from Divis and the NIMM from Black Mountain.

Hi. I live in the Republic and can get most of the Freeview channels. When I re-tuned this afternoon I had ITV3 ITV2+1 5USA and some others. However around 5 P.M. this evening the channels on Multiplex COM4/SDN disappeared. Does anyone know why this might have happened?

After a day of retuning quite a number of TVs I noticed the following on EPGs
TVs with Freeview HD put the NIMM RTE from black mountain at 51 52 and 53.
Those with aerials for Claremont Cairn RTE, they appear between 800 to 807.
The four Northern Hd channels appear high up the channel list as well so do check your full EPG or channel guide.
From checking the Claremont Cairn signal today a mast amp is still required at least in the Antrim area.

Fergus Maunsell: Only if you are able to receive Saorview, as it will not pick up any of the Freeview HD (DVB-T2) channels.

Thanks for your comments..
I can receive the multiplexes from both local relays here in Largs without a problem so
the exercise (more of a technical bit of fun really) was to see if I could receive
more channels by receiving the multiplexes which are not on my local relays directly from a main transmitter site. However yesterday after switch-over the signal levels on the SDN, ARQA and ARQB multiplexes from Divis are much, much lower(as I had feared due to the lower transmitter power ) than the BBC and D3+4 multiplexes so it's not really practical unless I use a huge high-gain antenna.
I have Freesat as well so can get them that way.
Thanks
