Hi,
My HD have fluctuating strength, signal is very good at .
I have a and have tweaked it's direction and checked connections,but to no avail, do I need a signal ? any suggestions please.

David Linkson: I would have a try at repositioning your within the , as in many cases even moving it a few feet either way can prove to be very beneficial, that is provided you have some means of monitoring what's happening during the movement of the aerial.

However another possible reason exists for your problem, that being from Sandy's temporary use of transmission on Mux Ch31, this being the same as used by the HD service.

Although admittedly its usually people who reside to the North of London that can be plagued by this, the from Sandy could be fluctuating due to the atmospheric conditions prevailing and causing it to rise to a level that has started to affect in your area.

There isn't anything you can do to rectify this situation, as any alterations to the aerial would also assist the that's causing the problem.

Thanks for reply. Sorry but didn't make things clear in my post. Both TV's have their own . One pointed to . The other (with the problem) and a box to C. Palace.

(Springfield area of )

Believe what is happening (again today) is high Sudbury in 800 series + 301 Red button being picked up from C. Palace aerial - ? if transmitted from C. Palace for testing prior to C/over in 2012.

These then removed in early hours i/c 301. Believe Sudbury 301 overwrites C. Palace 301 in my Freeview box. Then removed when Sudbury channels removed. Leaving no C. Palace 301 in my Freeview box.

I manually add 301 each morning and it stays all day.

Do you have a aerial? If so, it is quite possible that the aerial's front to back ratio is not very good. In other words, it can up quite a lot of from the back.

You could be better off with the one aerial on with a 2 way /splitter feeding both televisions.

What end up in the 800s? Which signals are the most reliable?

Possibility it's my - it's and over 20 years old - so will renew if needed - problems only started a couple of weeks ago.

Doubt if I'll go for an / splitter as it will require a lot of cabling.

At 0900 today did a Auto Channel search on my "" TV with box. Picked up 23 "East Anglia" in the 800 series - all Ch 41 & Ch 44 with good signals.
(At 11.00 the 800 series still there)

Then plugged my other TV into the "London" aerial this morning and did a new channel search. Same result as above.

Mark Heselden: The boundaries between this site's predicted 'best' area for one and another are fairly arbitrary and probably wrong - like most of the predictions, because far too much of the information is kept private by the broadcasters/transmitter owner.

In this case, it's because the coverage area is divided - by the tool that generated the map - between and . Croydon only normally transmits , although in a dire emergency it can transmit the main four channels (Crystal Palace's own reserve and transmitters would have to fail first). So this line is completely erroneous.

There's an analogue coverage area map from the 1980s at mb21 - Transmitter Information - Crystal Palace - this was measured, rather than predicted. Post- TV coverage should be substantially similar.

Hi I have a Humax PVR9200T on the . For the last week or two I have had a nag message advising of the need to retune when first switching on the PVR from standby each morning. Having taken advice from Humax I have done a retune automatically and also manually using the Crystal Palace . Humax are at a loss as they cannot understand why I still get the retune nag message! Any one on here suffering the same problem? Regards Clive

Bob: You either have to buy filters to only allow one through. A - E Masthead Combiner / Diplexer is one. For only, put the into the E socket and the wire into the com. For only, you should plug the into the A section.

Or- build a stacked array to phase cancel the other signals. Personally, I think option 1 will be easier.
