Our new television (a few months old) has a habit of losing the picture which can only be restored by switching it off and on again. This also happened to our old digital television - an occurrence that caused us to buy the new one. The new TV has been checked by an engineer and the master board changed and software updated - to no effect. We have noticed that the problem occurs at 2045 most evenings - does something take place at your end at this time of night?

Ian: When you say "losing the picture" are you meaning only the Freeview picture?
The other point being, that by you not having revealed your location (post code or one from nearby eg: a shop) then its impossible to check details of the transmitter covering your area as you could be located anywhere in the UK.
Another aspect that it would be beneficial to know is if your aerial system is exclusively yours or is it communal?

Hi I have a Humax PVR 9200T. I have retunned as instructed since the last but one retune the program information or synopsis is no longer recorded. If I press the info button while watching a recorded program the overlay comes up with the channel ID but is otherwise blank, it used to tell me about the program/episode I was watching now it does not. Does this happen to anyone else ? And is there anything I can do to fix it ?
Thanks

for the last 3 weeks i cannot get any signal from the crystal palace transmitter.
the aerial and all coax cable is aproximate 18 months old. the coax is pf100
i have retuned several times, i have 1 tv also 18 months old with freeview built in and an old analogue tv with bt vision box. both have the same problem,
i am currently getting 19 tv channels which i beleive are from sudbury (BBC EAST)these can sometimes be flaky
before you ask the aerial has not been moved it is pointing towards crystal palace and is pointing in the same direction as other aerials in the road.
if i could be sure the sudbury signal would not reduce i would adjust aerial to that
i also notice a couple of houses further along the road have had aerial engineers out recently so i am guessing it is not my set up.
i would be happy

I am at Caterham 12 miles from Crystal Palace. Like Andrew I had a problem with momentary drop outs cutting out words and making strips across the screen. The problem was that the signal from the aerial was hugely too strong. A 21db attenuator has solved the problem for all our TVs. No more squawking!

Can't get HD
Aerial aligned with Crystal palace tried manually tuning our Samsung UE40D5000
Crystal palace - HD on - C30- (545.8MHz)
Sudbury - HD on - C47 (682.0MHz)
Bluebell Hill - HD on - C40 (626.0MHz)
and still can't pick up HD everything but
Maps suggest we are in a black hole for reception except perhaps Bluebell hill. Any suggestions eg realign aerial to Bluebell Hill and retune - but that means getting on the roof! Don't want sky! anything else we can do eg getting a better signal booster?

mike: The Samsung UE40D5000 is fitted with a DVB-T (standard definition) tuner. To receive the Freeview HD channels you will need a Freeview HD box incorporating a DVB-T2 tuner.

Thanks KMJ - seems some descriptions do say it has an HD Tuner but others says it lacks an HD tuner. I guess that explains it.
