Over the past couple of months BBC channels have been very unreliable. I was without red button for about 2 weeks, resulting in my complaining under the guarantee about my television, then all of a sudden it came back. Now it is very intermittent. I use it for the weather forecast. I never know whether I am going to able to receive BBC from one day to the next. I do not have any problem with ITV. I have emailed BBC in London asking them to look into it twice, but they do not have the manners to reply. My postcode is EX22 7EX , I have retuned my television several times. I never had a problem in the past. My aerial is in the loft, and was professionally set.

Annette Russett: You need to check your signal stengths on the various muxes - at just 32km from the transmitter, you should be getting a great signal - if anything, too good.
So if your getting a poor signal, then points to something wrong with your aerial system. I'm not surprised that the BBC has not replied - they must get many hundreds of such emails a week, and unless there is a pattern caused by an actual transmitter problem, its not their fault. Its as if people emailed a car maker because their car wouldn't go, when it turns out the petrol tank is empty. The reality is that the vast majority of such problems are local to the receiver.

D: Regarding Com 7 & Com 8 from the 30 main transmitters that transmit these two multiplexes, at the next tv digital switchover (DSO2), Com 7 & Com 8 will cease to exist. DSO2 will occur either later this decade or early in the 2020s, when everybody will be forced to receive Freeview tv in HD (high definition) and SD (standard definition) will cease to be transmitted. As a consequence of the plan for DSO2 as explained above, there are no plans for increasing the powers of Com 7 & Com 8 between now and the date of DSO2. Richard, Norwich.
