I live in Wigton CA7 9DJ, practically within sight of Caldbeck transmitter and although I get some channels with a strong signal eg BBC1/2/3/4 channel 4 and 5 etc, I can't seem to get the ones on COM 4/5/6 shown above.
Having found this page it seems that the signal is not so strong. My question is would using an outdoor aerial enable me to get these channels or would that be a waste of money too? We have sky tv for the main tv, but it feels we are really limited on tv's in other rooms

Helen: If you are not using a rooftop aerial then you don't really stand a good chance of getting a reliable Freeview service.
As you are very close to a main transmitter, you should have no problems at all with a rooftop aerial.
