BATH transmitter - Freeview BBC Digital TV Off Air from 10:13 today to 10:29 today [BBC]

Sunday, 26 June 2011
I noticed around 11:15 this morning that Bath Mux B and Mux HD have been off air.
It took BBC's reception website three hours to reflect the outage (even now it still just says HD is off air).

Does anyone know when we are likely to get all the HTV, Channel 4, Channel 5, etc channels back in Bath. We've been without them since early this morning (about 8am) and there's no indication of what's going on. Surely it's not beyond the wit of someone to have announced something like this last night on the local news

Hey Bath Bun,
BBC have only acknowledged a fault with BBC HD (which is very odd) - It seems they've now switched HD transmissions to backup, as they're reporting its now under "Very Weak Signal".
Not sure why they've got BBC HD back online and not ITV/C4/C5. I'd of thought that would take priority over HD.
(Though, i'm not really complaining. I'm glad I get Top Gear in HD tonight).
They don't make it very easy to contact them to try and ask questions like that either. Only by email, which'll take days.

Hi Liam
I only have the bog standard Freeview so currently down to only the standard BBC channels. I wanted to watch Popstar to Opera Star (sad I know) but isn't looking likely at the moment. It's bad enough that those of us on the relay transmitter only get a few channels unlike everyone else and now virtually 12 hours without the majority of those. We should get a reduction on our licence fee.

Bath Bun,
I totally agree. I'm not sure why effort was even put into Mux HD for the freeview HD users before D3&4, unless they're unaware of any issues on that Mux (Which contains ITV, C4, C5, E4, etc - Basically any non BBC channel that we can get)
This is definitely a fairly big equipment failure (or a catastrophic response to a fault from Arqiva who look after the transmitter), so that explains why it wasn't detailed last night, but why the local websites on the BBC or thisisbath.co.uk aren't running stories about this is pretty unforgivable.
At least the weather has been good all day, but I suspect now the evening is starting many more people are going to be angry!

They're now trying to claim there has been a weak signal from 16.36. I'm in a clear line with the transmitter, on a hill not the trough of the valley and I can confirm there is still no signal.
Heat? How come it has been off since 8.30am this morning then. It certainly wasn't hot then.
Does anyone know who to complain to about this?
