Transmitter has changed for Dundee last week, picture and digital service was fine after retune.
However this week signal has gone to analog with no digital service after retune.
Signal information bit error level is high and no signal strength.
Indoor aerial has been fine in past.
Auto tuned this morning and I got a good signal and picture but tried later and bit error level is high again

Richard Fielden: Thankyou for your comments re-my problems with Hanington which have helped. Having tried another downlink from my splitter it points to a poor connection somewhere in the previous downlink. Because the com mux s are at a lower power than the big boys I think they just can't break through: no problem at all with even the HD channel signal though which misled me to blame the transmitter. On the other downlink although the power and quality is somewhat erratic it does not seem to affect the TV picture - clever this digital stuff!

Shaun:
The Angus transmitter has had Planned Engineering this week with "Possible service interruptions". It's usually not a good idea to retune when you have no signal, you just lose the correctly tuned channels.
As you are close to the transmitter and not had previous problems with your indoor aerial, then if you now seem to have all your channels, signals may continue to vary for as long as the engineering continues.
If you are missing channels, when the signals look good on the multiplexes that you do have, unplug the aerial and do an automatic retune to clear memory of previous tuning, plug the aerial back in and do the retune again.
From recent experience, in practice, "Possible service interruptions" seems to include "weak signal" as well.

Richard Fielden:
Although I can't advise what your predicted reception might be without a full postcode, you are well within the coverage area for Hannington. Even though the COM multiplexes are half the power of the PSBs, you should have no trouble receiving them. As you've discovered things like splitters etc. should also be checked. Flyleads are also a common problem. Always try swapping ports on splitters etc. and swap flyleads about to try and eliminate things and narrow the source of the problems.

Hi, for some time now, stations on channel 36 from the Angus transmitter have been poor or non existent at various times of the day. No other stations are affected. Other people in my village are having similar problems. Obviously I have reset my tv to re-scan all channels, sometimes this results in no stations found on channel 36. This has never been a problem before.
Something must have changed at the Angus transmitter, but they say everything is working correctly.
