UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).
This transmitter has no current reported problems
The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Birmingham - Pritchett Tower (Birmingham, England) transmitter.Local transmitter maps

Disappointing to find that we can no longer view the Sony Christmas Movies in our area. We are living in South Derbyshire and cannot connect to the East Midlands transmitters. Can you please advise if you are planning to allow users in this area to view the Christmas movies.

Brian Humphries: Sony moved some of their channels to the local TV multiplex last year, this is only available in areas where there is a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8. This is down to a commercial decision made by Sony over what level of coverage they are willing to pay for, it isn't down to whether anyone else is allowing you to view the channels or not.

StevensOnln1: Hi thanks that would explain it all, we used to receive Sony Movies when receiving from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter but lost it when moved over to the Birmingham Pritchett Tower.
Perhaps moving to a satellite based system would be the best option.

Brian H: Pritchett Tower is an analogue radio transmitter, it doesn't broadcast any TV services. All of Sony's channels are broadcast free to air (FTA) on satellite.

It depends on where exactly in S.Derbyshire you are, as some areas are still served by Sutton Coldfield and there are some that can actually receive several transmitters. Sometimes you have a choice depending on whether you may want West Midlands or East Midlands news.
If you provide a full postcode, we can look at which transmitter(s) you might be predicted to receive.
If the choice happens to be very limited, then as you have said, satellite may be the way to go, some modern set already have an in-built satellite tuner so only a Dish and LNB is needed.
