in order to receive HD , do we need special aerials? We receive all other channels, with good , DL3 0GB is our post code.

Val Grimshaw: No. What you do need though is a TV or box with a (DVB-T2) tuner in. definition signals use DVB-T.

Some older HD TVs were "" (and some current ones may be - not sure about that) which meant that they could show HD pictures but didn't have the means to receive the signals.

SO50 7LQ. I have a (upgraded in Dec '13) fitted on the . Problems with some but not all. Good on most popular channels; BBC, ITV, 4 & 5. Watching now with heavy pixalation. Same on , 4Music and quite a few others.
Main TV runs through BT Vision. All units re-tuned. Can't view as heavy pixalation.
Good signal strength and for BBC but low quality for the pixalated channels.
Frustrating having some working and not others.
Any ideas?

Andrew Curtis: As you appear to be using for your the question would be, if when you had the upgraded did the installer mount it vertically? as the COM radiate on 200 Kw on vertical transmissions whereas its only 50 Kw on horizontal.

Andrew Curtis : In addition to that said, the only downside to the being mounted vertically is that you will likely be unable to receive the new additional HD on COM7 () on 23.4Kw and eventually COM8 () also on the same , as well as the new local () on 10Kw starting in June 2014, as all three only radiate on horizontal transmissions.

JB38 is correct, however

If is difficult in your location you may well want to sacrifice the new HD on HP, making your system VP will give a far superior signal.

With the strength the new channels will be radiated at such low levels some people may need to go back to large high aerials just to try and receive them.

With VP we can now smaller aerials far less likely to be impacted by high winds.

When I have my magic eye attached to my new TV I loose almost all of the . This is a new build property and was set-up to use sky magic eye use in all rooms. The and associated equipment is all less than 18 months old.
At the most I will have only one television using the magic eye at any one time.
Why is this happening? Do you have any advice to overcome this problem, please?

TN147JR. Hi We lost our in the storm and have muddled through till no. It's an old aerial although we got the (have a new TV), so what would be the best aerial to replace with given current and future development.
I think we are on the edge of the range and our village is high on a hill.

just recently I'm getting poor and a reduced signal strength on both my TVs, which are served by a common . Several stations are affected. My closest is and this has always been the picked up by auto . But I am now getting BBC1 preferentially from and a poor signal strength across the board. Is there a problem with the Emley moor transmitter?

SL4 3FJ. I have had no in the last 7 days. I couldn't contact my neighbours, so I don't know if they are experimenting the same problems, and I don't know what to do if the problem is coming from the building . What should I do?? Thank you
