For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

Hi. Recently I 'lost' the red button services on BBC TV (radio was okay!). I managed to retrieve them by returning the channels, both with and without the aerial connected (same result). However, I still haven't got the red button on BBC News HD (ch.107) and BBC4 HD (ch.106). I presume they should be there. Is there anything else I can do?

Ranger Caroline: I've got a very good reception now that I have place the aerial vertical outside my bedroom, other than occasional signal loss during a windy day it doesn't give me any problems at all tracking the channels.

I don't have to watch the TV on computer anymore.

L M Price:

You don't say where you aerial is aimed, what polarity it is set to nor what Group it is.

You are just 3 km from the Leamington Spa transmitter, which is a Freeview Light transmitter and only broadcasts the BBCA, BBCB HD and D3&4 multiplexes. It needs a Group B aerial mounted with the small cross rods vertical rather than horizontal. It is at a bearing of 40 degrees. There are expected to be further changes later this year that will make reception from Leamington Spa more problematic so would not be recommended.

Sutton Coldfield is 41 km away on a bearing of 332 degrees - but it needs the aerial to be set for horizontal reception (with the small rods horizontal rather than vertical). It is also a Group B Full Service transmitter. A Group T or a wide band aerial is recommended.

Anyone else missing COM7 channels C33 (BBC News HD etc) from Crystal Palace transmitter?

Been off with me (W4) since yesterday at least I think we. Retuned tonight but to no avail. 100% signal strength reported on PSB8 (C30) and COM8 (C35) but absolutely nothing in between.

If it's not a transmitter fault, then does anyone else have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Paul Thompson: Please advise. Since 21st March I have lost many channels (7/8/10/20 plus more) I live in Rye East Sussex. TTN31 7UG. I am on the Dover transmitter. I was told by freeview that the channel MUX had moved from 55 t0 35. There is NOTHING there. For the first few days there was 100% signal on 35 with nothing being broadcast.... but as of Sun 25th March there is NOTHING. Please advise.

Chris Jackson.

Paul Thompson & Chris Jackson: You are both most likely using grouped aerials which are no longer suitable for receiving all of the frequencies used since the recent changes. If you don't have satellite or cable you should be eligible for a free replacement wideband aerial which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

Hi, we are currently missing (amongst others) Vintage TV and PBS America from the list of Freeview channels. Our postcode is SS6 which I believe is the Crystal Palace transmitter area.

Darren: The multiplexes carrying those channels changed frequency at Crystal Palace on 21st March. If your TV has a manual tuning function, try UHF channels 55 & 56, if that doesn't work you most likely have a Group A aerial which is not designed to receive these higher frequencies. If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible to have a free replacement wideband aerial fitted, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).
