L H Leigh: The frequency of the SDN mux from the Oxford transmitter changed to C50 on 29th May 2013. Did you try a re-tune after this date? Do a manual tune for C50 if this is possible on your receiver. It might be necessary to perform a factory reset to delete the old frequency from the tuner's memory before scanning for channels.

I live at Barnes Ave Hp5 1Ap. For the past 2 weeks I have had reception problems on all Freeview Channels. When I enquired at my local tv repair shop they say this problem has been reported .Yet unless I am reading the information wrong when I enter my postcode the screen says no problems. Is there a current problem with Freeview reception in my area?

Over the last 6 months I have retuned my elderly aunts tv several times. It's fine when I do it but within a few days ITV4 and Film4 then disappear until I get back to retune it. Any suggestions?

john wright: What happens when you go to the manual tune screen and select UHF channel 24, but do NOT press the button to scan, instead simply wait five or ten seconds - does it give any indication as to strength and quality on that channel?

Penny: Assuming that the Rowridge transmitter is being used then switch the aerial from horizontal to vertical.
The Commercial channels which carry ITV4, Film4 and others aren't as strong horizontally, but all channels also broadcast vertically at the same power.

I have lost all Freeview channels for the nth time last night. The thick cloud between this location and Winter Hill is responsible. Rain also causes this effect. Freeview is one of the most useless, so-called examples of 'progress'. Like DAB. The loss of terrestrial TV to play into Murdoch's hands is one of the biggest scandals to hit the UK and should be scrapped. If you pay your TV licence and don't get TV, who is there to recompense you? Answer: No one. You pay, you lose. When will everybody wake up?

Chris Critchley: Freeview signals are not stopped by rain ironically unlike satellite...
The usual reason for wet weather degrading terrestrial viewing is that your aerial out called have perished and are letting in rainwater.
