Freeview reception at DD5 2ST

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

EE,  Multiple operators,  O2,  3,  Vodafone,  location on line-of-sight,  Selected location,  Freeview transmitter,  Freeview light transmitter,  Engineering/fault today.

These icons show the potential locations for 4G-at-700MHz services that may interfere with Freeview reception at some point from 2020 when the 5G 700MHz services start.

Tv started pixilating Sat 25th February and this was followed with ongoing channel problems etc . spent lots of time and effort in changing leads , tuneing etc . Yesterday the system Went back to normal thought it was okay after retuning amp/recorder box.s and Plasma Panasonic tv . Signal advice on the systems indicated different responses at different times ! from good to bad to no signal with varicose signal quality messages . Never had a problem before ! - Today 17/03 - ALL BBC channels disappeared ??? .

Michael Sutton: There are no faults showing for Ridge Hill (and if there has been it certainly wouldn't have been happening for several weeks without mention here). If you've tried to troubleshoot the problem yourself without success, it's time to call out an aerial installer to look at it all.

Hi,
With the recent change on 15/03/2017, I lost the view of Tiny Pop channel , ch126, from the list of my tv channels. I have a LG smart tv.
I retuned by following auto-tune and manual tune both and have no luck. My post code is LS17 6BN. Any advice?
Thanks
Ifti

Iftekhar Mishu : A check on your postcode shows that you should be able to receive the Leeds local multiplex from Emley Moor which carries Tiny Pop. Go to the manual tuning option in your TV's settings menu and select C56 and wait a few seconds for signal strength and quality readings to appear. If these are stable and the quality is high enough, selecting the option to scan/add channels from this frequency should result in Tiny Pop being stored on channel 126.

Ken Newby:
I think that you will be watching ITV in HD. All ITV High Definition broadcasts throughout the whole of the North of England currently carry Granada's output, both local news and adverts.
ITV have indicated their intention of showing Tyne Tees transmissions in HD on Freeview at some future date, but nothing has yet been finalized.
In the meantime, you should be able to receive Tyne Tees in Standard Definition only. ITV in SD normally comes up on Freeview's Electronic Programme Guide on channel 3 (and HD channel 103).
To find Tyne Tees if it's not on channel 3, try searching EPG in channels 800 upwards.

Aerial positioned on chimney and l seem to be unable to get a picture on the free view system on all stations it just suddenly dropped out on Thursday afternoon 16 March. Have tried another tv (maybe lower power required) and can get a picture on that tv . The freesat box on the dish reception is fine so has the power output been reduced on the transmitter?

Mrs Parrott: You should have excellent reception at your location, and transmitters do not suddenly reduce power of their transmissions without warning, so it is likely that the fault is with your home. And Freesat is transmitted in an entirely different way, so thats not applicable.

Assuming you have one aerial and two TV's running off it, check the signal strength (and that they are actually tuned to the correct transmitter). If its fine on the one working, and presumably zero or close enough on the one thats not, then logically, its a problem between where the aerial feed splits and the TV itself. Classic problem is that the aerial lead in the back of the TV comes loose or falls out.

TV transmission does not work as you seem to think.

Please would you gove a full post code of your locvation so we can check the receptions conditions there. Would you also give us the signal strength readings.
