Have just got through to BBC whose automated reply says it is due to high pressure which is letting foreign signals travel further than normal thus interfering with ours... Have left feedback saying a report on radio news would be helpful. This sounds like a fudge to me, or am I just over suspicious??!

Problems are due to atmospheric pressure...
Hi all. We live in North Dorset and for some reason get our signal from Rowridge transmitter on the I of W. I have managed to get through to the broadcast dept (who only talk to the broadcast companies, not to the general public) of Arqiva who own and manage the Rowridge transmitter. He says ( as did digitalUK) that the mast is working ok, but the signal is badly affected by high pressure. Not a meteorologist so cannot explain why this particular high pressure is causing problems...
This explains our local TV shop's signal screen, which shows sort of adequate signal for BBC but 0 /zero quality. The owner says BBC now the main problem, other channels not so bad.
Is there freak weather on the I of W?!
