I have now lost all signal can you tell me what the problem mig
published on UK Free TV

The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Helen Payne: You have not provided a postcode, so it is hard to be specific. Can you see Freeview reception has changed? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for general advice?

Claudia: First check that the aerial lead into the back of the TV is in good order and the coax plug is firmly fitted to the end of the cable.If it is not one of the permanently fitted types check that there are no stray strands of the outer braid of the coax touching the inner core. If the aerial is shared between all the apartments ask your neighbours if they are having problems. If yes, it is likely that the distribution amplifier has lost power, a circuit breaker might have tripped, or someone has turned off the power to go on holiday without realising that it supplies the TV aerial distribution amp! If you cannot see anything obvious, and are sure the aerial is faulty you will have to contact the landlord or building management company to sort out the problem. If your neighbours are all OK try another freeview box or TV if possible just to make sure.

Claudia: Hi, My aerial is on a mast with amplifier, has worked perfectly till recently. The signal strength averages 80% but the quality bounces abot like made and tv shuts off, Black screen. I get a reasonable picture with a cheap digi box, picture breaks up. But when using my Digital recorder with twin tuner I get a No or Bad signal and is unwatchable. I have had an engineer from Aerial Solutions But couldn't help. Grangemouth Road is a problem for any kind of signal.

KMJ: I have checked the aerial cable and its fine, its brand new anyway. Hole in the wall doesnt seem to have any problem visualising by the eyes. I have also checked with a few neighbours, they have no problems. Unfortunately, thats the only TV at home and I have no other freeview box to test with too :(

So it comes down to what you suggested "distribution amplifier has lost power, a circuit breaker might have tripped, or someone has turned off the power to go on holiday without realising that it supplies the TV aerial distribution amp" - how can i check these things?

Alex: Thanks for your sharing. I have had similar situation before my TV complated lost all signals. Even though it indicates that i have 72% signal strength, the pictures were still bumpy and it would also sometimes freeze at the spot with loads of pixelated noises. Using a signal booster doesnt seem to improve either...

What is Grangemouth Road btw?

I live in the BR2 9QB postcode and I believe I use the Crystal Palace Transmitter.
Up to about July 2011, I had no trouble with my freeview reception, HD was great.
Now I seem to have intermittant interference on all channels but worse on HD.
My aerial is in the loft and has a booster on it so it can serve 4 TVs in the house. The arial is close to the wall with next door and the booster is on the other side of the loft.
I can't pinpoint when the problem is worse.
I am getting fed up with never knowing when I can watch TV on freeview.
If you have any advice, I would be grateful

C Brewer: Could be a dodgy booster (does happen), but could also be interference caused by having e.g. a WiFi Modem or a DECT phone base close to the TV set.

My TV needed a rescan today and I did it, but said 'yes' to scan for analogue channels and now my TV says it has no signal.
How do I get the signal back? I have a blue screen and a count down box in the middle.
I have unplugged the TV and aerial but nothing changed.
Thanks
